In Arizona, National School Choice Week will feature 1196 events and activities. Every event is unique, and all schools, homeschool groups, organizations, and families celebrate in different ways. To give you an idea of the types of celebrations taking place this January in Arizona, here are just a few that participants have shared with the NSCW team:

 

Summit High School in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will be posting staff, student, and parent school quotes and photos on social media. We will also be having school appreciation activity breaks throughout the week.”

Casa Ninos School of Montessori in Tucson, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. The event will feature a dance party!”

Teach N Tots Inc. in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will be celebrating with hot chocolate & cookies with our parents & children.”

South Pointe Junior High School in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will be having spirit week, Block 2 celebrations, and a Pep Rally at the end of the week to tie in all items about SPJHS and National School Choice Week! Encourage families to post comments on our website about why they choose SPJHS for their student(s).”

San Miguel High School in Tucson, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. San Miguel High School plans to highlight National School Choice Week on social media with photos of students with banners and scarves.”

Liberty Arts Academy in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show our school spirit. During our Fitness Friday Assembly, we will celebrate School Choice Week and discuss the importance of this week.”

Classical Conversations – Goodyear in , AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to bring attention to homeschooling as a form of school choice. We will ear our scarves, while celebrating our freedom to meet together as a community of homeschoolers.”

El Dorado High School in Chandler, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will celebrate with school spirit week, along with honorary breakfast, poster competitions and short clips of videos.”

Noah’s Ark Preschool & Kindergarten in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We have a wheel day every January on this week. We bring parents, grandparents & family friends together with their vehicles to show the kids what wheels are in the world”

Colegio Petite Elementary School in Nogales, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. The event will feature a spirit week with the colors Red, Black and Yellow. We will also have a photo booth. We will have students wearing their yellow scarfs. We will also have a banner where students will write why they love our school.”

Apache Trail High School in Apache Junction, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We are kicking off a tribute from our senior as to why they choose the trail. We will have various events and games to show our love and appreciation for our staff and students.”

Mission Heights Preparatory High School in Casa Grande, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show appreciation to families and teachers for making our school great. We will be doing social media posts each day, the why did you choose MHP papers, school of choice assembly with guest speakers (alumni, teacher and current student), snacks for students that say we are thankful they chose our school and more!”

Peoria Accelerated High School in Peoria, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. The event will feature We are making a spirit week out of it, complete with dress day, and culminating in a student BBQ & Student vs Staff volleyball game.”

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in Tucson, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The event will feature Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is bringing local schools together for a luncheon and creating a unified video to send out to our communities during School Choice Week. We will also be inviting our community to come visit our school and see the difference of PRCA, with our incredible teachers and community atmosphere.  Local churches are also coming to our school to provide lunches to thank our exceptional teachers and staff.”

Skyview High School in Buckeye, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. The event will feature We are planning to have a Spirit Week and student invitations to the school.”

Faith Christian School in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. We have a social media blitz planned throughout the week. A group of students is going to the state capital to participate in activities there.  We are having a spirit day with yellow as a color.  Students are writing thank you notes to their parents and using the provided activity book as a springboard for conversations about school choice.”

Gilbert Arts Academy in Gilbert, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. We will be creating a video of students and parents answering the question “Why should someone choose Gilbert Arts Academy?”  We will post this video on our website and on social media.”

West Phoenix High School in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. WE will celebrate our recent recognition as an A school, create school spirit opportunities, and provide students and families the opportunity to register their spot for the upcoming school year.”

Crestview Preparatory in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. We plan to have students write a brief essay using the prompt “I chose CP because” in our Classes.  We will also make short videos of why students and staff chose CP.”

Dison Elementary School in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. The event will feature students wearing scarves on our morning announcements and talking about why/what School Choice is.  We have our Media Specialist meeting with each class and getting them started on the “I love my school because” placard.  These will be posted around the school during the week of.  We have papers/activities copied for teachers to do in class, during the week.  We have School Choice posters, scarves, banners hanging in the front office.  5th and 6th grade is doing a poster, one per class, on what superhero power their teacher would have and how it would help students.”

GracePointe Christian Academy in Tucson, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. The event will feature class pictures as well as an all school picture”

FHS in Flagstaff, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to Show our school spirit. The event will show school spirit.”

Painted Desert Montessori Academy in Buckeye, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. We are having our first annual Spirit Week during National School Choice Week and posting on social media thanking our families for choosing us. We will also be handing out our yellow scarves and having an assembly.”

Havasu Preparatory Academy in Lake Havasu City, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. We will celebrate National School Choice Week with spirit days and having students share why they love our school.”

International School of Tucson in Tucson, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The event will feature the agreement for a new STEAM center will open an opportunity for students who want a more challenging curriculum to graduate at grade 10 offering the community a different pathway to education.”

Eva Marshall Magnet Elementary School in Flagstaff, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. The event will feature a flash mob dance so all 500 of us can gather to dance it out over school choice week. Also trying to coordinate a drone for photo/video”

Riggs Elementary in Gilbert, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show our school spirit. We are creating a video using each class as part of the National School Choice dance in PE class. Then, I pass out the scarves and we film each class doing their part of the dance. Then, I put the clips together with the song over it and we share it with the school and on Youtube.”

Victory High School in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to Celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. Victory students will celebrate with pizza and pictures.”

Vista Grove Preparatory Academy in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will have spirit week on National School Choice Week. Our students really enjoy coming to school during spirit week.”

Harvest Preparatory Academy in Yuma, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. The event will celebrate that we are a school of choice. We are a free public charter school with smaller classroom sizes, free lunches, free transportation, and no tolerance for drugs or violence!”

Acorn Montessori Charter Schools in Prescott Valley, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will be kicking off our school choice celebration with a parent breakfast where parents are invited to enjoy a doughnut with their child before school! After our parent breakfast, we will be having a whole school assembly including raffles, dance offs, minute to win it contests, and student sharing why they chose and enjoy attending Acorn Montessori School!”

East Valley Instittute of Technology, EVIT in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. Phoenix Christian Preparatory School in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The grill will be fired up as we welcome prospective families to share a meal with us on our campus on Saturday, January 25th.  Our house will be open from 10am to 1pm for campus tours and conversations with faculty and administration.  This is our 70th year and we want to celebrate 70 more years of school choice!”

Amerischools in Tucson, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We are celebrating the entire week and showing appreciation to our parents by having a parent awards night, because we recognize that without parents choosing us and supporting our students we would not be able to provide the very best for our students.”

Primrose School at Tatum in Cave Creek, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. During the week of January 27th-31st we will be having the teachers and children make videos about why they love their school. We will be hanging posters around the school about why we love our school. On Friday we will have a YELLOW DAY, when everyone wears yellows and we do yellow activities”

Gateway Academy in Phoenix, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. The event will feature the Grand Opening of the Mindfulness Walking Path.”

Rhodes Jr. High School in Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show appreciation to families and teachers for making our school great. Rhodes will be hosting an Open Enrollment Event and for every family that applies and is approved we will be providing them with a free gift (school swag).”

Spirit of Hope Montessori School in Peoria, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. We are having an OPEN HOUSE on January 30 from 3-4:30.  Guests may visit our school and see the Montessori classroom.”

The French American Academy of Arizona in Tempe, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with activities to share what makes our school great with our community. The activities will include a social media push each day of the week highlighting our free dual-language immersion program (only one of its kind in AZ), standardized test scores, alum success, and overall benefits to school choice.”

School Tuition Association Of Yuma (STAY) in Yuma, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of school choice. We will participate in NSCW virtually with social media posts following and celebrating local school choice options.”

Choose A School Az in Chandler, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of education options for children. The event will feature a movie screening of Miss Virginia at the Harkin’s Theater and Virginia Walden Ford will be in attendance on Feb. 5, 2020 at 5:30 pm at the Tempe Market Place, Tempe, AZ.”

Choose A School Az in Chandler, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show local support for school choice. The event will feature a legislative/parent/student specialty coffee/hot chocolate/donuts at the Phoenix Capitol meet and greet on school choice issues.”

Home Educators of Surprise in Surprise, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to let families discover more about homeschooling. The event will feature a talent show and educational activities for kids to learn about our state.”

Classical Conversations Yuma in Yuma, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about homeschooling. The event will feature an explore homeschooling event – most groups that meet in our city to share with others”

Tammy Clayton from Queen Creek, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of school choice. Throughout the week, I will be sharing all about our experience from this first semester of educating at home.”

Jillian Gill from Mesa, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. For the event we will plan on wearing our scarves at school and posting about it to show our support.”

Melanie Allred from Lake Havasu City, AZ will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. For the event we will plan on doing a skit with the kids at school and involving all the staff and kids.”
