Selection of events in Arkansas

In Arkansas, National School Choice Week will feature 748 events and activities. Every event is unique, and all schools, homeschool groups, organizations, and families celebrate in different ways. To give you an idea of the types of celebrations taking place this January in Arkansas, here are just a few that participants have shared with the NSCW team:

 

Weaver Elementary in West Memphis, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. The event will feature video testimonies of our teachers, parents, students, and community leaders.”

Mission Choices in STAR CITY, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to Inform parents about the options available for their children’s education. We will hand out scarves and hand out a basketball in the library.”

Our Lady of Fatima School in Benton, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. We have a prayer service planned, student appreciation day (where we pass out the scarf), service project “Helping Veterans’ Home,” and “Reading Day” with special literacy events and special guest readers.”

Prism Education Center in Fayetteville, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. The event will feature On January 24th, we will be releasing a podcast that will explore the topic of what to look for when selecting the best school for your child.”

Fairfield Bay Area Chamber of Commerce in Fairfield Bay, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. The event will feature a teacher appreciation breakfast, gifting scarfs to all students and giving the winning class a pizza party for a door decorating contest about why they love their school.

Helena-West Helena School District in Helena, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show appreciation to families and teachers for making our school great. We will be passing out scarves, posting signs, talking with students and parents. I feel that it is important for people to know that they have a choice. I want the families and teachers to know that we appreciate their decision to choose to support the local school district.”

Prism Education Center in Fayetteville, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. On Tuesday, January 28th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, we will be hosting an information night for potential parents to learn more about our Kindergarten Program.”

Don Tyson School of Innovation in Fayetteville, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. The event will feature our Declaration of Intent to enroll. We are an in-district charter conversion & school of innovation with tech, industry, AP, community college virtual pathways”

Legacy Academy in Lockesburg, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. The event will plan to feature a rally with all parents, students, and the public–as well as members of the media.”

Ozark Kindergarten Center in Ozark, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show our school spirit. The event will feature a class party which include handing out our yellow School Choice scarves. Students will wear them all day to show their pride! Photos will be posted on our schools social media, classroom social media, and district media.”

Academy of Excellence in Eureka Springs, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The event will feature handing out scarves on Monday. Display posters in hallways. Post on Facebook pictures of students with scarves and posters and a door decorating contest among the classrooms.”

Generation Homeschool in Paragould, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to bring attention to homeschooling as a form of school choice. The event will feature a week of day trips for local homeschool families. We’ll be attending a matinee at the theater, a trip to the nature center, a park visit with hot cocoa, a walking trail, a visit to a museum, and a cookout/potluck.”

Danielle Mcdaniel from Rector, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. For the event we plan on wearing all yellow and playing games.”

Stephanie Biswell from Alma, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of opportunity in education.”

Daisy Green from Lonoke, AR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. For the event we will Spread awareness with friends and school!”
