Selection of events in Georgia

In Georgia, National School Choice Week will feature 1,950 events and activities. Every event is unique, and all schools, homeschool groups, organizations, and families celebrate in different ways. To give you an idea of the types of celebrations taking place this January in Georgia, here are just a few that participants have shared with the NSCW team:

 

Living Word Christian Academy in McDonough, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. Each class is making pictures of why the love their school. Each class will take pictures with the School Choice scarves and posters. The MS has written a play that will be acted out and the entire school is learning the official School Choice dance that will be videoed.”

John S. Davidson Fine Arts in Augusta, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. We Plan to have the faculty and the seniors were their scarves and post on the school website.”

Community Christian Academy in Adel, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We will have several grade levels write why they love our school. We will also have a school spirit day and show off our scarves. Place signs out in front of our school to show school spirit.”

Chamblee Charter High School in Chamblee, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. The event will feature hanging up signs, doing weekly tours of our school, handing out fleece scarves and stickers to new families interested in our school.”

Georgia Preparatory School in Conyers, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. The event will feature the dance and handing out the scarves.”

Dekalb Academy of Technologh & Envrionment Elementary and Middle Charter School in Stone Mountain, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. The event will feature a morning school assembly of celebration for the “School Choice” option!”

Classical Conversations of Watkinsville in , GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to let families discover more about homeschooling. We will have a Homeschool 101 Info Meeting about homeschooling in Georgia and how we homeschool.”

Calvary Baptist Academy in , GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of opportunity in education. We discussed freedom of choice in schools across America. We wrote why we loved our school and drew pictures for it.”

Destiny Inc in Jonesboro, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of education options for children. We will celebrate at our monthly meeting School Choice Week.”

The Sheltering Arms Early Education And Family Centers in Lawrenceville, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. The event will feature a Parent Leadership Cafe. It is important to encourage families to get involved at to research education options and advocate to create opportunity for themselves and their children.”

Bainbridge Classical Conversations in Bainbridge, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to let families discover more about homeschooling. Our event will raise awareness of homeschooling as a choice to our community.”

Newton County Homeschool Co-op in Covington, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show local support for homeschoolers. distribute the materials to our families. Some of them post in our online group about what having the choice to homeschool means to them.”

Classical Conversations in Temple, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate homeschooling students and parents. We will be eating lunch with games and activities for kids at either a local park or eating lunch together at a local restaurant if the weather is not conducive to outside time.”

Hapeville Charter Career Academy in Atlanta, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to Share what makes our school great with our community. The event will feature week-long activities with student group support (sports, beta club, etc) as well as social media blast”

Robin’s Nest Preparatory Academy in Fayetteville, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The event will feature a School Open House to invite the local families in to see and learn more about us.”

Metter Elementary School in Metter, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. We plan to have the students decorate the school with reasons they love our school. We have also planned a winter themed family math and STEM night.”

Ariel Lavalais in Stone Mountain, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of education options for children. I plan on celebrating school choice by showing school spirit. I’m hoping to actively show support for parents rights to choose where their children gain their education.”

Hapeville Charter Career Academy in Atlanta, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. The event will feature Show and tell about the great programs we have at Hapeville Charter Career Academy and what we offer at our school”

Jessica Barrett in Metter, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of education options for children. For our event we will perform the dance and want to post a video”

Anjannette Williams in Columbus, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. For our event we will get some youth from my church to help celebrate school choice week with activities.”

Jubilee Christian Preparatory Academy in Powder Springs, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The event will feature video clip of the students with their scarf and few pictures”

Burdell Hunt Magnet Elementary School in Macon, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We have a Week of events planned. Students will get to dress down and show their school spirit!”

Elite Scholars Academy in Jonesboro, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. We are planning to celebrate National School Choice Week, by taking photos of the students & staff wearing NSCW scarves.”

Columbus Adventist School in Columbus, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show our school spirit. We are having spirit week and recording the students with their scarfs and posters.”

Liberty Tech Charter School in Brooks, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. The event will feature our “Why do you like Liberty Tech Charter School?” video with all of our students, grades K-8. We’re going to promote it on our social media channels during NSCW.”

Fulton Leadership Academy in East point, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. The event will feature a school choice dance performance and pictures of all levels of leadership and teachers throughout School Choice Week”

Apple Tree Prep-Athens in Athens, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. The event will feature a week-long celebration with a parent information session, scarf Thursday, and post on our social media pages. We will spread great positive information about NSCW and our award as a school. Our AS students will do a brief talk about being chosen for school choice award.”

LifeSong Montessori School in Cartersville, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show appreciation to families and teachers for making our school great.”

Mahogany Moms, Inc in Macon, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. The event will feature a visit to Bruce Elementary School in Macon, GA and conduct a cheer rally, as well as read to students”

Amanda Branch from Midland, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share our family’s school choice story. For the event we will be making and designing a car decal to put on both our family cars. We are also making a poster with various art on it depicting our school choice. We will also be making a clay piece for school choice week.”

Shelly Harbuck from Smithville, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about the importance of effective education for children. For the event we plan to celebrate with all of the families in our homeschool co-op.”

Lacy Wilson from Leslie, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate homeschooling.”

Victowery Towery from Lawrenceville, GA will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate homeschooling. For the event we plan to take pictures and share online. We want to share with friends and family as well!”
