Selection of events in Idaho

In Idaho, National School Choice Week will feature 280 events and activities. Every event is unique, and all schools, homeschool groups, organizations, and families celebrate in different ways. To give you an idea of the types of celebrations taking place this January in Idaho, here are just a few that participants have shared with the NSCW team:

 

The Village Charter School in Boise, ID will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to shine a positive spotlight on our school. For the 6th consecutive year, the third grade class will put on our bright yellow NSCW scarves, hop onto our public transportation and travel to our State Capitol building in Boise, Idaho. The “Capitol of Light”, as is is known, offers our students the opportunity to work with parents and volunteers to tour the building and grounds. We will focus on architecture, art and history while visiting. Students often take the time to meet or speak briefly to legislators. We will be given a tour of the Idaho State Treasurers Office including the always favorite vault.Students have been given the opportunity to lean the 2020 National School Choice Dance and may take part tin the “I Love My School Because…” poster contest.”

Chief Tahgee Elementary Academy in Fort Hall, ID will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. Chief Tahgee Elementary celebrates National School Choice Week in recognizing and thanking their students and teachers for their hard work and dedication they bring to the school in academic learning and cultural teachings.”

Classical Conversations in Twin Falls, ID will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to provide information to parents interested in homeschooling their children. We will advertise for Homeschool on Facebook post information in the community.”

Elizabeth Maciel from Postfalls, ID will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of education options for children. For the event we will have an awareness and informational get together after school hours event at my local library”

Bradie Lowe in Idaho Falls, ID will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show our school spirit. The event will feature a community luncheon”

Angela Almond in Nampa, ID will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate homeschooling. We plan to wear our scarves to the library and are prepared to answer questions when asked about they meaning they have.”
