Selection of events in Oregon

In Oregon, National School Choice Week will feature 412 events and activities. Every event is unique, and all schools, homeschool groups, organizations, and families celebrate in different ways. To give you an idea of the types of celebrations taking place this January in Oregon, here are just a few that participants have shared with the NSCW team:

 

McMinnville Adventist Christian School in McMinnville, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to share what makes our school great with our community. The event will feature School spirit, decorating, scarfs, reader board announcement”

Redmond Proficiency Academy in Redmond, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness about different education options. We will pass out scarves to our MS students who will be going to the mountain and take pics, send email on school choice to our families”

Savannah Damron in Redmond, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show local support for school choice. We plan on having our kiddos in class make a special poster.”

Days Creek Charter School in Days Creek, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate our students, parents, teachers and staff. We are planning to make posters and put them up around the school.”

Logos Public Charter School in Medford, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to show our school spirit. We will hand out the yellow scarves and celebrate by holding School Spirit Week dress up days each day of the week.”

Agia Sophia Academy in Beaverton, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to help local families learn more about our school. Come & See! Learn about our wonderful Montessori Primary Program (ages 3-6) and our Multi-Age Elementary Program.”

Denise Ryan in Bend, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to inform parents about the options available for their children’s education. For our event we will be giving scarves out to my neighbors who are already looking into online schools.”

Jenelle Price in Eugene, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to raise awareness of education options for children. For our event we will be handing out scarfs to other students and explaining why and when to wear them. Also lots of photo ops!”

Shayne Cooper in Ontario, OR will be celebrating National School Choice Week “with an event to celebrate homeschooling. For our event we will be planning to homeschooling so we will talk and hand out the scarves.”
