Afton Christian School is excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week (January 26-February 1, 2020) with a special spotlight event!
The event will feature an school choice assembly. We will have banners and signs up all week. Students will be playing and using the games you supply. On Wednesday of that week we have an assembly where students will have signs they wave in the air along with their signs. At the assembly we will be learning and doing the dance. We also pose for pictures with the entire school to take pictures, videos, etc. During this assembly our students will hear information about what school choice is and why choices are important. We will have a video and faculty and staff speaking. We will also be learning the dance and all students will be participating, wearing scarves and/or holding signs.
Afton Christian School is a caring Christ-centered educational institution that partners with parents in the training of students to love God, to value wisdom, to serve others and to take action in God’s leading and purpose for their life.
Started in 2011, National School Choice Week (NSCW) is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, NSCW shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country. From January 26 through February 1, 2020, more than 50,000 independently-planned events will be held in celebration of the Week.
During NSCW, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
