Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund is excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week (January 26-February 1, 2020) with a special spotlight event!
Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund will be hosting a very special movie screening of “Miss Virginia” on at 6:00 pm at Bernheim Hall. Families, students, community members and school leaders are welcome to attend! Hailed as a “must-see” movie by USA Today, the film follows a struggling inner-city mother who sacrifices everything to give her son a good education. Unwilling to allow him to stay in a dangerous school, she launches a movement that could save his future—and that of thousands like him.
The Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund was established in 2013 and provides tax credited scholarships to low-income K-12 children across Alabama to attend the public or private school of their choice.

Started in 2011, National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. The goal of NSCW, which features participation from tens of thousands of schools and organizations, is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for children.
During National School Choice Week, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
National School Choice Week is nonpartisan and nonpolitical, and is not related to any legislative advocacy efforts.
