View Ultimate Recap to NSCW

Students and families from across Connecticut are invited to celebrate National School Choice Week by joining the Connecticut Magnet School Expo and Showcase, hosted by Choose a School & New Haven Public Schools.

WHAT:
New Haven, Connecticut Public Schools Office of School Choice (K-12) will host the Virtual School Choice Expo, 2023. The event will be the largest family event of the year. The NHPS will use Zoom Events to create a streamlined virtual event experience for participants and provide a direct opportunity to engage with schools in the district.

It puts everything at the fingertips of families. Parents who are working on the weekends and would not be able to get to the expo in person to support their kids could listen in and get information. The event will have an intro video, awards to students and teachers, and a brief overview of the participating schools. Parents will then be able to break off into one of the 30 sessions to learn more about the school they are interested in.

Monday: Each school will have an in-person NSCW open house with school-level activities (pizza and prizes)
Tuesday: The public is invited to Kindergarten registration day
Wednesday: Art showcase and prizes for students
Thursday: Charter exploration night
Friday: Each school will have an in-person NSCW open house with school-level activities (pizza and prizes)

National School Choice Week (NSCW) informs, inspires, and empowers parents to discover the K-12 education options available for their children, including traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and homeschooling.

Every January, tens of thousands of schools, organizations, and individuals plan unique events and activities to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options in their communities.  The Week is a project of the nonpartisan, nonpolitical National School Choice Awareness Foundation.
