Delaware Charter Schools Network Association is excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week (January 26-February 1, 2020) with a special spotlight event!
The event will feature Delaware Charter Schools Network IDEA awards
The IDEA Awards is an annual awards banquet that celebrates dedication and innovation in our charter schools. The Acronym stands for Dedication, Innovation, Education, Admiration. Parents, teachers, administrators, and students are nominated by their peers and the awards are announced at the banquet. DCSN also recognizes legislators who have been particularly supportive to the Charter Community over the preceding year. In between awards, students and student groups from the charter community provide entertainment. We have had students perform dances, sing, perform in a drum line, provide a military color guard for the opening, and perform a step routine. We will also be awarding 2 National Charter Champion Awards this year to local legislators.
We will be celebrating the innovation and diversity of our charter schools and highlighting the importance of being able to choose the right school for a child. No school is right for every child, and the diversity of charter schools and their missions provides different environments for students to thrive.
The Delaware Charter Schools Network is Delaware’s statewide charter support organization. We are a membership network that represents charter schools of all types throughout the First State. We proudly work for over 16,000 children in 23 charter schools. Our network unifies all charter schools in order to achieve critical policy and programmatic gains.
Started in 2011, National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. The goal of NSCW, which features participation from tens of thousands of schools and organizations, is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for children.
During National School Choice Week, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
National School Choice Week is nonpartisan and nonpolitical, and is not related to any legislative advocacy efforts.
