Families Empowered is excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week (January 26-February 1, 2020) with a special spotlight event!
The event will feature a city wide open house. On January 18th from 10am-1pm we are asking schools to open their doors to families for school tours and information sessions. Families can tour a handful of schools in one day to learn more about the schools, the atmosphere, the culture of what that school has to offer. City Wide Open House is a day when all schools open their doors and welcome in the community. Our goal is to ensure that all parents – and especially our community’s most resource-constrained parents – feel they are welcomed and supported by their school and community leaders in their search for the right school for their child. For neutral information about school options across San Antonio, families can stop by The DoSeum to speak with a member of the Families Empowered team.
Families Empowered believes that every child deserves access to an excellent education, and parents know best. We bring you information so that you can choose what is best for your child. Because every family deserves to have access to schools that work for them.

Started in 2011, National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. The goal of NSCW, which features participation from tens of thousands of schools and organizations, is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for children.
During National School Choice Week, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
National School Choice Week is nonpartisan and nonpolitical, and is not related to any legislative advocacy efforts.
