Planned by a diverse coalition of organizations, schools, and community leaders, this special event will celebrate school choice options available for children and families across the State of Hawaii. This event, which is National School Choice Week’s official flagship event for the state, will take place at the Entrepreneurs Sandbox and will feature a school fair. HawaiiKidsCAN is hosting a resource fair and celebration for families and students who create, support, and innovate with learning experiences outside of the traditional school system and model. This first-time event looks to engage families who have taken or are interested in a homeschool, unschool, or unbundled education experience. There will be live performances and a showcase of learning experiences from families who support the diverse needs of their learners.

Started in 2011, National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. The goal of NSCW, which features participation from tens of thousands of schools and organizations, is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for children.
During National School Choice Week, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
National School Choice Week is nonpartisan and nonpolitical, and is not related to any legislative advocacy efforts.
