– Students, teachers and staff at Indian River Charter High School in Vero Beach, Florida are excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week with a special spotlight event! To celebrate national school choice week we have an achievement ceremony complete with student guest speakers, A and A/B Honor Roll certificate distribution, and a dancing flash mob! The event is widely loved by our students and is attended by select community members and our board of directors. A few weeks before the event, we teach members of our dance department and musical theater department the national school choice week song and dance. We then film a short promo video that will be played at our massive National School Choice Week celebration assembly. The video depicts students dancing across our campus in and out of classrooms, it’s fun to see them excited and surprised looks that we catch on film. Students that know the dance will start the flash mob, encouraging everyone else to get up and dance at the end of the ceremony. This flash-mob dance celebration will happen after the Juniors and Seniors who received A and A/B Honor Roll are called in front of the whole school to receive their certificates. We plan to add the video to our YouTube channel and hopefully live-stream the event to our parents at home.
– This event is hosted by the Indian River Charter High School.
– January 28, 2022. 12:05 pm – 1:15 pm

National School Choice Week shines a spotlight on effective education options for children and is the world’s largest celebration of opportunity in K-12 education.
As a not-for-profit effort, we focus equally on traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and home education options. We are nonpolitical and nonpartisan, and we do not advocate for legislation.
Every January, our participants plan tens of thousands of events and activities – such as school fairs, open houses, and student showcases – to raise awareness about school choice across all 50 states. Year-round, National School Choice Week develops resources and guides to assist families searching for schools or learning environments for their children.
