The National Miss Virginia Screening Tour is planned and proudly presented by National School Choice Week, in partnership with a diverse array of state and national organizations dedicated to opportunity in K-12 education.
This special spotlight event will take place at The Avalon Theatre in Milwaukee and will feature a special screening of Miss Virginia. Hailed as a “must-see” movie by USA Today, the film follows a struggling inner-city mother who sacrifices everything to give her son a good education. Unwilling to allow him to stay in a dangerous school, she launches a movement that could save his future—and that of thousands like him.
Free popcorn and soda will be served during the movie. This is a free event and an RSVP is required. Click here for more details and to RSVP
Started in 2011, National School Choice Week (NSCW) is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, NSCW shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country. From January 26 through February 1, 2020, more than 50,000 independently-planned events will be held in celebration of the Week.
During NSCW, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
