Sixth Annual Oklahoma Parent Power Summit & Education Expo – Oklahoma City

– Planned by a diverse coalition of organizations, schools, and community leaders, this special event will celebrate school choice options available for children and families across the State of Oklahoma. This event, which is one of National School Choice Week’s official flagship events for the state, will feature a Parent Power Summit & Education Expo. Oklahoma’s annual Parent Power Summit is expanding this year and will feature a jam-packed week of events, both in-person in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and virtual.
In celebration of National School Choice Week, the Oklahoma City Parent Power Summit Education Expo will take place on Thursday, Jan. 27. The free event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Oklahoma City Convention Center and will feature information booths from schools of all types across the metro area. The expo will also include music, a photo booth, snacks, and family-friendly entertainment.

Leading up to the expo, all Oklahoma City schools and community members are invited to participate in a week of encouraging online activities discussing education, including daily live broadcasts, interviews with education leaders, panel discussions with parents, and videos spotlighting innovative schools throughout the state. Online events can be found at facebook.com/EdChoiceMatters.

For a detailed guide to school choice in Oklahoma please visit the Oklahoma School Choice Roadmap.

National School Choice Week shines a spotlight on effective education options for children and is the world’s largest celebration of opportunity in K-12 education.

As a not-for-profit effort, we focus equally on traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and home education options. We are nonpolitical and nonpartisan, and we do not advocate for legislation.

Every January, our participants plan tens of thousands of events and activities – such as school fairs, open houses, and student showcases – to raise awareness about school choice across all 50 states. Year-round, National School Choice Week develops resources and guides to assist families searching for schools or learning environments for their children.
