Students, teachers and staff at St Joseph Elementary School in Hilo, Hawaii are excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week with a special event!

St. Joseph School is planning a field trip for our elementary school students to ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center to learn how the ancient Hawaiians navigated the night sky. To share the Hawaiian cultural studies our school offers, our students will greet the staff of the astronomy center with a Hawaiian chant written by our school principal. We will also have themed dress-up days, a family picnic, our basketball homecoming game, and family fun night called the Cardinal Cafe. Additionally, we are partnering with our pastor at St. Joseph Church and will Shine for School Choice Week with red and gold spotlights at the entrances to our preschool, elementary school, high school, and church from January 22nd to 28th.

This event is not open to the public.

This event is hosted by St Joseph Elementary School.

Saint Joseph School, founded April 1, 1869, is the oldest private school and the only Catholic school on the island of Hawaii.
