Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School is excited to announce that they will be celebrating National School Choice Week (January 26-February 1, 2020) with a special spotlight event!
TEECS will be hosting their first installment of our Parent Academies. This information panels will be made up of experts from the community to talk and shed light on each given topic. This particular session is titled “What is a Charter School?” allowing us to explain not only how we operate, but what sort of positive impact we have on the students and the community. The event is open to the public to come and gain knowledge on the topic, as well as ask any questions that they may have in regards to the information shared.
Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School (TEECS) is a tuition-free public school and the first K-12 School in the state of NJ to focus specifically on green/renewable energy. TEECS’ mission is to offer a safe, secure, structured and stimulating educational environment to develop students’ academic, technical, personal, and critical thinking skills necessary to meet the standards that will enable them to succeed in a global economy, predicated on knowledge and innovation. TEECS will instill in every student the desire to continually expand their intellect and use the content knowledge and skills they’ve acquired to participate and responsibly shape the direction of a complex world with ever-increasing climate challenges and energy demand. TEECS accepts students from three area school districts including Franklin, North Brunswick and South Brunswick Townships.
Started in 2011, National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual education-related celebration. The goal of NSCW, which features participation from tens of thousands of schools and organizations, is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for children.
During National School Choice Week, schools across America celebrate the challenging, motivating, and effective education they provide to students. At the same time, parents use the week to learn more about the education options available to their children, in advance of the upcoming school year.
National School Choice Week is nonpartisan and nonpolitical, and is not related to any legislative advocacy efforts.
