BATON ROUGE (Jan. 14, 2019) – Parents, educators, and community leaders will participate in a panel discussion in celebration of National School Choice Week at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22.
The panel will feature Caroline Roemer, executive director of the Louisiana Association for Public Charter Schools, as well as representatives of online schools. Members of the panel will discuss the future of education in Louisiana, highlighting how virtual schools can provide parents another quality option for education.
The event will take place at Capital Park Welcome Center; free parking is available in the lot across the street on River Road.
This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
“The virtual school option has been a blessing for my son Marcqise and our whole family,” said parent Morgan Quinn from Metairie, Louisiana.
The event’s sponsor, the National Coalition for Public School Options (PSO), is a national alliance of parents that supports and defends parents’ rights to access the best public school options for their children.
