Governor Bryant Proclaims Jan. 20-26 “Mississippi School Choice Week”; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in Education

Mississippi students, communities to hold more than 400 events as part of nation’s largest-ever celebration of school choice

JACKSON, MS–Gov. Bryant has officially declared Jan. 20-26 Mississippi School Choice Week. In doing so, he joined more than a dozen governors and hundreds of city and county leaders nationwide who have issued similar proclamations.

Parents,schools, and organizations have planned 441 events and activities across the state of Mississippi, including rallies, roundtable discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more. These events are designed to foster conversations about the educational opportunities available to families.

More than 40,000 events have been independently planned for the week nationwide, raising awareness about opportunity in education.

“We are grateful that Mississippi families are so enthusiastic about school choice, and we’re thankful that Gov. Bryant is raising awareness by issuing this proclamation,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “We are looking forward to a fantastic Mississippi School Choice Week.”
