Governor Hutchinson Proclaims Jan. 20-26 “Arkansas School Choice Week”; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in Education

Arkansas students, communities to hold more than 500 events as part of nation’s largest-ever celebration of school choice

LITTLE ROCK, AR –Gov. Hutchinson has issued a proclamation declaring Jan. 20-26 Arkansas School Choice Week, joining more than a dozen governors and hundreds of city and county leaders nationwide in issuing similar proclamations.

During Arkansas School Choice Week, students and community leaders will engage in more than 500 events and activities across the state of Arkansas,including rallies, roundtable discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more. These events are designed to spark conversations about the educational opportunities parents have, or want to have, for their children.

More than 40,000 events have been independently planned for the week nationwide, raising awareness about opportunity in education.

“We look forward to the hundreds of individually-planned events that will take place in Arkansas throughout National School Choice Week,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “We are grateful for Gov. Hutchinson’s proclamation and wish Arkansas families the best as they work to advance educational opportunities for children.”
