OLYMPIA, WA – Joining more than a dozen governors and hundreds of city and country leaders nationwide, Gov. Jay Inslee has issued a proclamation declaring Jan. 20-26 School Choice Week in Washington.
Throughout the state of Washington, 431 school choice events and activities have been planned, including rallies, roundtable discussions, festivals, and school fairs. Parents, schools, and other organizers have planned these events to celebrate educational opportunity and spark conversations about the increased options parents want to have for their children.
More than 40,000 events have been independently planned for the week nationwide, raising awareness about opportunity in education.
“We are excited that parents in the Evergreen State are so enthusiastic for school choice, and we’re grateful that Gov. Inslee issued a proclamation showing his support for that,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “We wish Washington families the best as they advocate increased educational opportunity and join in the National School Choice Week celebration across the nation.”
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country. From January 20 through 26, 2019, more than 40,000 independently-planned events will be held in celebration of the Week. For more information, visit www.schoolchoiceweek.com.
