LITTLE ROCK (Jan. 16, 2019) – Food from a diverse array of countries and student poetry, song, and folk dance performances will be featured as LISA Academy celebrates school choice at its 8th Annual Language & Culture Festival. The event will take place 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Pulaski Academy and explores the timely theme, “The Art of Living Together.”
The annual festival celebrates the many cultures represented at LISA Academy and highlights the unique opportunity Central Arkansas families have to attend a diverse school of choice. This year’s event will feature cultural foods for purchase, country displays, and an exciting award ceremony. Several hundred school choice supporters are expected to attend.
This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
“The Language & Culture Festival will be a highlight of our many celebrations and activities during School Choice Week,” said Angela Ward, operations and outreach coordinator at LISA Academy. “We are excited to demonstrate the success of charter schools and to advocate increased parental choice in education.”
LISA Academy is a high-performing K-12 public charter school serving more than 2,000 students in Central Arkansas.
