Throughout the week, students and teachers were celebrated for their accomplishments and wore National School Choice Week scarves and stickers, provided in the free kit sent by NSCW. “When our parents and students join AcadeMir, they are not just joining the school, but joining a family. We love to have our students, staff and parents come together to celebrate the school they are in,” Font said.
For schools that are planning their first National School Choice Week, or ones who are just looking for inspiration, Font says it really should just be about having fun. “Get inspired and create events or activities that kids will love,” she said. “For this upcoming year, I have more things planned to celebrate National School Choice and I am looking forward to sharing them all with you,” Font said.
Plan Your Own Spirit Week
What are some of your favorite school-wide activities? Think about the ways you raise school spirit in your classrooms – perhaps through dress down days like the AcadeMir students, or assemblies, or even fundraising. Use the momentum of National School Choice Week to plan these events and make use of the free supply kit to aid in the celebration.
