School Choice in District of Columbia
There are a variety of school choice options available for many of the 130,000 children living in the District of Columbia. Families in the District of Columbia can choose from traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.
In 2025, we are partnering with 126 schools and organizations in the District of Columbia to raise awareness of K-12 education options.
