Engaging Your Community Throughout the Year
Community engagement is a cornerstone of student success. When parents, teachers, and school leaders work together, students benefit academically and emotionally. Not sure where to start?
Events offer a great way to get parents and students involved. During National School Choice Week in January and beyond, events help strengthen relationships with families, boost morale, and enroll more students. With a little planning, a small-scale event like a spirit week, information night, or guided tour can support your goals.
Larger events like school fairs, field trips, or community service projects can also expand your reach and impact. To help inspire ideas for your next event, we’re sharing a look at some fun and engaging events from schools coast to coast!

“We are thrilled to share the success of our recent community involvement event, our McTeacher Night fundraiser! In just 3 short hours, we raised just under $700; 100% of the pie sales and 15% of the food sales go directly back to supporting our students. It’s a quick, fun way to make a meaningful impact, and we can’t wait to do it again! We look forward to hosting another event in the spring and using the funds raised to support students in need of assistance with field trip expenses. Our teacher especially loved exploring new roles behind the counter and getting an awesome shirt with the experience.”
