About the Event

On January 30, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., several thousand students, teachers, and family members spanning five states tuned in for the SLAM Foundation’s Choice Week Challenge: SLAM-A-PALOOZA 2026 to celebrate National School Choice Week 2026. Hosted by students for students, the show was streamed live from SLAM Miami, one of the nonprofit foundation’s more than a dozen public charter schools. The mini-Olympics featured each school competing for gold, with SLAM K–12 students in Arizona, Florida, Nevada, Texas, and Georgia participating based on school spirit and fun. It combined what SLAM does best—focusing on sports—with students showcasing their school pride. The winning team or teams competed for $500 for their team and $500 for their school to celebrate their trophy.
