There are a variety of school choice options available for many of the 1.7 million children living in Arizona. Families in Arizona can choose from traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.
If you’re a parent looking for school choice options for your child head to our Arizona State Guide.
National School Choice Week (NSCW) informs, inspires, and empowers parents to discover the K-12 education options available for their children, including traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and homeschooling.
Every January, tens of thousands of schools, organizations, and individuals plan unique events and activities to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options in their communities. The Week is a project of the nonpartisan, nonpolitical National School Choice Awareness Foundation.
Students, parents, and educators from across the Grand Canyon State will gather to celebrate school choice at the state capitol on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. More than 500 students are expected to attend. The event will raise awareness of the K–12 education options for Arizona families, while providing an opportunity for community and state stakeholders to hear directly from families about how school choice has helped them learn and succeed. Hosted by the American Federation for Children and Padres Unidos in collaboration with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, the event will also include entertainment, giveaways and swag!
