There are a variety of school choice options available for many of the 1.3 million children living in Colorado. Families in Colorado can choose from traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.

National School Choice Week (NSCW) informs, inspires, and empowers parents to discover the K-12 education options available for their children, including traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and homeschooling.

Every January, tens of thousands of schools, organizations, and individuals plan unique events and activities to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options in their communities.  The Week is a project of the nonpartisan, nonpolitical National School Choice Awareness Foundation.

Acompaña a Parents Challenge y a National School Choice Week a una feria escolar en Great Wolf Lodge el 27 de enero de 2024 de 10:00 a. m. a 2:00 p. m.

Este evento mostrará más de 30 escuelas locales, presentando una variedad de opciones educativas, como escuelas públicas tradicionales, escuelas charters, escuelas magnet y escuelas privadas. Tendrás la oportunidad de conocer educadores y obtener respuestas a tus preguntas de elección de escuela para ayudarte a tomar la mejor y más informada decisión para su familia.

¡Esta feria escolar será divertida y para toda la familia! Ven a disfrutar del DJ, un pintor de caras, el fotomatón y mucho más. También podrás extender tu día y visitar el parque acuático Great Wolf Lodge (la entrada no está incluida en este evento).

What:

Students, parents, and educators from across the Centennial State will gather to celebrate school choice at the state capitol on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. Hundreds of students are expected to attend. The event will raise awareness of the K–12 education options for Colorado families, while providing an opportunity for community and state stakeholders to hear directly from families about how school choice has helped them learn and succeed. Hosted by Colorado Association of Private Schools, Colorado Parent Advocacy Network, Parents Challenge and Parents United in collaboration with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, the event will also include speakers and student tours of the capitol.

National Microschooling Center Convening

What:

The National Microschooling Center will host a convening of 25 microschool leaders from around the country to celebrate National School Choice Week and create an opportunity for microschool leaders to collaborate and support each other. Taking place from January 26-27 at Lone Rock Retreat, this event will include discussions of current trends and barriers in the movement, breakout working sessions and an opportunity for us to continue our work to build the culture of the microschooling movement.
