Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt issues a proclamation recognizing January 26 – February 1, 2025 as Oklahoma School Choice Week

There are a variety of school choice options available for many of the 950,000 children living in Oklahoma. Families in Oklahoma can choose from traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.

National School Choice Week (NSCW) informs, inspires, and empowers parents to discover the K-12 education options available for their children, including traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and homeschooling.

Every January, tens of thousands of schools, organizations, and individuals plan unique events and activities to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options in their communities.  The Week is a project of the nonpartisan, nonpolitical National School Choice Awareness Foundation.

What?

Families in Oklahoma have more choices for their children’s education than ever before! Parents learned more about the different K–12 education options available for their kids at the Oklahoma City School Fair on January 25th 2025, from 10:00am – 1:00pm, at the Advance Center For Free Enterprise.

At the school fair, parents had the chance to meet representatives from traditional public, public charter, public magnet, private, faith-based, online, home, and nontraditional schooling options, and get their questions answered.

The Oklahoma City School Fair was hosted by Choice Matters in collaboration with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation. It was family-friendly, free to attend, and included complimentary food, photo booths and face painting.
