What?
Families in Maryland have more choices for their children’s education than ever before! Parents learned about the different K–12 education options available for their kids at the Maryland School Fair on January 25th 2025, from 11:00am to 3:00pm, at St. Mary’s Catholic School.
Featuring a panel discussion on school choice and special program on summer enrichment, this event showcased local traditional public schools, public charter schools, independent schools and home school options to help families learn about their school choice options in Maryland. Parents got the chance to meet educators and get their questions answered to help make the best and most informed choice for their family!
The Maryland School Choice Fair also featured Higher Learning: The DMV HBCU Experience College Expo: A Taste of the American HBCU tradition. With alumni admissions tables from more than 20 HBCUs, a Step-And-Scroll Drumline and an HBCU academic demonstration featuring the only HBCU platform showcasing the academic offerings of HBCUs; this event was an HBCU extravaganza.
This event was hosted by Parents Alliance for Education Options and The Black Student Fund in collaboration with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation. This event also highlighted a range of educational support organizations including: Mocha Moms, X is Possible, Alpha Earl Apps, Moja Consulting, Patriots Technology Center, ConnectDMV, and family friendly entertainment like face painting, a DJ and refreshments.
