Students and parents joined Park Street Public and the National School Choice Awareness Foundation for a student showcase to celebrate school choice on January 27th from 10:00am – 11:00am. Hosted at the Minnesota Children’s Museum, this event highlighted talented local students from many different kinds of schools like traditional public schools, charter schools and private schools. What a great day at the museum!

What?

On January 29th 2025 School Choice Wisconsin and the National School Choice Awareness Foundation joined together for a celebration of school choice at the Wisconsin State Capitol! School Choice Wisconsin hosted students from all over the state to meet with legislators and share what school choice means to them. This event highlighted many of the state’s educational options and the opportunities they offer to families. The event featured student and parent speakers and was an exciting opportunity for students to learn about the state capitol, and for legislators to hear from students, families and educators about the importance of school choice!

Please join us for Flourish 2025, hosted by Flourish Black Family Homeschool Conference, running from January 29th – 31st, 2025 at the New Life Church and Community Center. This event is a two-day conference that presents workshops and programming designed to to equip parents as educators and empower a community of school choice advocates.

This year, we are offering a special convening of leaders and parents called “The ConFab.” A confab, short for confabulation, is an exchange of views for the purpose of exploring a subject. We are ready to convene an occasion of fabulous conversation about school choice that includes parents, community activists, educators and government leaders, HBCUs, and religious & community orgs. On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, join us from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm for a Meet & Greet sponsored by the VELA Education Fund. On Thursday, January 30th & Friday, January 31st from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, we will engage school choice partners to co-lead interactive workshops. The ConFab will enlighten the community to confront misconceptions, share resources, and give voice to underserved communities

Held from 12:00pm – 1:00pm, this event featured legislators speaking on the importance of school choice and what school choice means to them and highlighted many of our state’s educational options and the opportunities they offer to families. Families in Florida have more choices for their children’s education than ever before! Parents: learn more about the different K–12 education options available for your kids at the 2025 Miami School Fair & Conference: “Shaping the Future: AI and New Trends in Education in Miami”.

Hosted at the University of Miami on February 1st 2025, this event will bring together thought leaders, educators, students and parents to explore the transformative role of AI in education as well as the many innovative initiatives happening at schools in Miami. At this school fair, you’ll get an up-close look at various Miami schools, meet their representatives, and ask questions to better understand their unique programs, curriculums, and values. Also featured will be expert-lead panels and presentations on the topic of AI and new technologies in education.

The 2025 Miami School Fair & Conference is hosted by the Miami Schools Fair & Conferences in collaboration with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation.

What?

Families joined San Antonio Charter Moms and the National School Choice Awareness Foundation for a School Discovery Day at The DoSeum on January 25th 2025 from 9:00am – 12:00pm! This event was the flagship School Discovery Day for the 2024-2025 open enrollment season, and aimed to connect local parents with their school choice options so they can make the best and most informed choices for their families. Featuring over 40 local schools with a range of education options such as traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, and private schools, this event was a fun and informative day for the whole family! Attendees received FREE admission into the DoSeum.

What?

On January 28th, 2025, students joined P.A.C.E. and the National School Choice Awareness Foundation for a celebration of school choice at the Michigan State Capitol!

We hosted over 100 students from schools from all over Michigan at the State Capitol to show support for school choice and share what it means to them. Students had the opportunity to explore the Capitol and meet their legislators throughout the day. Schools also participated in a service project by making fleece blankets to donate to organizations in the community such as children’s hospitals, offering a chance for students to give back to their communities.

This event highlighted many of our state’s educational options and the opportunities they offer to families. Featuring student and parent speakers, this event was an exciting opportunity for students to learn about the state capitol, and for legislators to hear from students, families, and educators about the importance of school choice!

From January 27th to January 31st, DC Parents Amplifying Voices in Education (DC PAVE) will be hosting Parent Voice and Choice Week in Washington DC, a week of organized meetings between elected officials and parent advocates to support school choice topics and educate legislators on the need for school choice. This event will bring together policymakers, elected officials, nonprofit partners, school leaders, Parent Leaders, and community members to celebrate the work by Parent Leaders and award policymakers and elected officials who have shown commitment to school choice and elevating parent voice.

Breakfast, lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the week, and this high-energy week will conclude with a happy hour for all participants!
