On February 1st 2025 from 10:00am to 2:00pm please join Oakland Enrolls and National School Choice Week at Oakland Unity High School for an informational event to learn about your local charter school options and get your enrollment questions answered! Oakland Enrolls will have volunteers on hand to help you fill out applications for local charter schools and learn what school options will work best for your family. With interpreters available for Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Mam and Arabic, this event will be accessible to the whole community. This event will be fun and family-friendly, featuring a balloon artist, photo booths, free food and face painters!

What?

Families in Florida have more choices for their children’s education than ever before! Parents: learn more about the different K–12 education options available for your kids at the School Choice Safari on February 1st 2025, from 10:00am – 1:00pm at Zoo Tampa.

This event offers Hillsborough County families a unique opportunity to explore educational options and connect directly with K-12 school representatives. Families can meet with school staff, ask questions, and gain valuable insights to help make informed decisions about their school choices. GuidEd representatives will also be on hand to provide free, bilingual assistance, meeting individually with families to offer personalized support. After the event, GuidEd will follow up with each family to continue assisting them throughout their school search journey.

The School Choice Safari is hosted by GuidEd in collaboration with the National School Choice Awareness Foundation. It’s family-friendly, free to attend, and will include complimentary food and face painting, magicians, photo booths, and games. What?

On January 31st at 11:30am, several thousand students, teachers, and family members spanning four states will tune in for the SLAM! Foundation’s Choice Week Challenge: SLAM Olympics 2025 to celebrate National School Choice Week 2025.
Hosted by students for students, the show will be streamed live from SLAM! Apollo Beach, one of the non-profit foundation’s more than a dozen public charter schools.
The mini-Olympics will feature each school competing for the gold, with SLAM! K-12 students in Arizona, Florida, Nevada, and Georgia participating based on school spirit and fun. It combines what SLAM does best—focusing on sports—and students showing their school spirit! The winning team or teams will compete for $500 for their team and $500 for their school to celebrate their trophy.
